A woman from Kirov registered a pension for her son and "forgot" about him at the social services center.
As established by supervisory authorities, a 48-year-old resident of Kirov illegally received social payments allocated to her 13-year-old son — a survivor’s pension — from May to July 2025. The woman did not actually support the child and provided him with no financial assistance.
It emerged that since February 2025 the teenager had been in full state care at a social rehabilitation center for minors. However, the Kirov resident deliberately concealed this information from the pension authorities and continued to receive the payments for her own benefit. As a result, the amount of unlawfully received funds exceeded 40,000 rubles.
The materials of the prosecutor’s inspection were forwarded to the inquiry authorities. Following their consideration, a criminal case was opened under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). The progress of the investigation is being monitored by the prosecutor’s office.
