Residents of Kirov Oblast reported the closure of a route they rely on.

      Concerned residents of the towns of Malmyzh and Vyatskiye Polyany, as well as nearby villages and hamlets, contacted the editorial office of Newsler.ru. Kirov residents reported that the Malmyzh–Vyatskiye Polyany bus service has been closed since January 1, 2026. "As reported by acting director of MalmyzhPAT LLC, B.V. Khamatov, the route was closed due to unprofitability. But the consequences of this decision are having an extremely negative impact on citizens' lives," the callers noted.

      Many institutions, for example the tax office, the treasury, and medical specialists, are located in only one of the towns. Now access to them has become difficult, especially for pensioners who do not have private transport or the money to pay for a taxi. "Residents of the villages and hamlets who used this route have found themselves even more isolated. We understand that the economic aspect is important, but the social significance of the route is indisputable," local residents write.

      Newsler.ru sent a request to a number of agencies asking them to comment on the situation and announce any decisions to restore transportation access for the residents of Malmyzh and Vyatskiye Polyany, as well as surrounding settlements.
