Over the holidays, 376 power outages were recorded in the Kirov region.
At today's government meeting officials reported on how the holidays went in terms of utilities. It emerged that during the period from December 31 to January 11 there were 376 power outages, mainly due to weather conditions. On site 369 crews worked, including more than 1,100 people; 442 pieces of equipment were used and 12 backup power sources.
The largest outage was in Sosnovka — 2,500 people were left without electricity. It was unlucky in that the outage lasted from the morning of December 31 until the early morning of January 1. Authorities noted that the power situation in the region is now normal.
As for cold water and heating, eight outages were registered for each. The largest water outage was in the settlement of Medvedok in the Nolin district (1,100 residents were left without water). Currently several villages are without electricity; it is promised to be restored soon. The largest heating outage was in Vyatskiye Polyany (298 people).
Also during the meeting they reported that over the holidays there were 44 road accidents with two fatalities and 50 injured, and 34 fires with three fatalities. There were more fatalities last year.
