According to the agency, the driver of a passenger car violated traffic rules and collided with an ambulance that was driving with its lights and sirens on. As a result of the incident both drivers, a paramedic, and four passengers were injured.

According to preliminary data from the regional traffic police, the crash occurred at about 13:30 in Kirovo-Chepetsk at the intersection of 60-let Oktyabrya, Volodarskogo and Shkolnaya streets. At that time it was also reported that six people were injured in the crash.
Earlier, a procedural check into the matter was organized by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region. Now Alexander Bastrykin has instructed the acting head of the regional investigative department, Sultan Orazayev, to initiate a criminal case and report on the initial results of the investigation. The central office of the agency has taken the execution of the instruction under its control.
