The Kirov firefighters' fleet has been replenished with a new KAMAZ aerial ladder.
A new KamAZ aerial ladder has been added to the fleet of the fire-rescue units in the Kirov Region. The special vehicle was delivered as part of a centralized supply from the EMERCOM of Russia, the regional department’s press service reported.
The aerial ladder is designed to evacuate people from heights of up to 30 meters — the level of the ninth floor. Rescue can be carried out either along the ladder or using a flexible rescue sleeve. In addition, the vehicle allows fire-extinguishing agents to be delivered from the top of the ladder when fighting fires in multi-storey buildings.
EMERCOM noted that thanks to its relatively short wheelbase and all-wheel drive, the vehicle has good maneuverability and can be used effectively in urban conditions.
After registration and the completion of the necessary paperwork, the aerial ladder will be included in the operational complement of one of the units of the territorial fire-rescue garrison of the Kirov Region.
