In the final match of the outgoing year, the Kirov hockey players lost to their opponents from Khabarovsk.

This season "Rodina" has been playing very well at home — until yesterday they had only one defeat at their own rink. But against the championship leader from Khabarovsk, SKA-Neftyanik, our team could not cope.
The first period, however, was even. Trailing 0–2 and 1–3, Rodina reduced the deficit to a minimum.
But after the break the visitors finally seized the advantage and ultimately made it 6–2.
In the standings Rodina is in sixth place. Over the New Year holidays they will play at home against Arkhangelsk's Vodnik (January 8) and Moscow's Dynamo (January 11).
