Amateur astronomers named the main astronomical events of 2026.
The public page "Amateur Astronomy in Kirov" compiled a list of the main astronomical events of 2026. Among them are meteor showers, close approaches and planetary parades, the oppositions of Jupiter and Saturn, two full moons in one month, and solar and lunar eclipses. The most beautiful meteor showers will be the Lyrids, Perseids and Draconids.

February 28 — winter planetary parade;
March 20 — spring equinox;
April 22 — peak activity of the Lyrids meteor shower;
April 23 — conjunction of Venus and Uranus;
May 6 — peak activity of the Eta Aquariids meteor shower;
May 31 — Blue Moon;
June 9 — conjunction of Venus and Jupiter;
June 21 — summer solstice;
July 4 — conjunction of Mars and Uranus;
July 29 — peak activity of the Southern Delta Aquariids meteor shower;
August 12 — summer planetary parade;
August 12 — peak activity of the Perseids meteor shower;
August 15 — conjunction of Mercury and Jupiter;
September 23 — autumnal equinox;
October 4 — Saturn at opposition;
October 8 — peak activity of the Draconids meteor shower;
October 21 — peak activity of the Orionids meteor shower;
November 16 — conjunction of Mars and Jupiter;
November 17 — peak activity of the Leonids meteor shower;
December 13 — peak activity of the Geminids meteor shower;
December 21 — winter solstice;
December 24 — supermoon.
