Recently in Malmyzh, police officers found a homemade weapon in one of the garages. It turned out to be a smoothbore, short-barreled, single-shot pistol of 5.6-millimeter caliber, in working condition. The police established that it had been made by a 29-year-old man. He himself admitted that he had crafted the weapon while still at school. A case was opened against the local resident under Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of a firearm).
