      In the hall where the meeting took place, several hundred Kirov residents gathered. Almost the entire conversation was focused on family values, as well as belief in oneself and one’s own abilities. Asked how schoolchildren can combine study and sport in today’s realities, Oksana replied that most often it is necessary to set priorities — what to devote more attention and energy to. For example, her daughter trains seriously in tennis; training sessions run from morning until night, so the girl studies remotely. Domnina noted that this is a very good alternative for those who, because of their busy schedules, cannot attend school.

      Roman Kostomarov said that he and Oksana Domnina have been together for 20 years, and sometimes Roman calls his wife “my Vyatochka” (Oksana was born and raised in Kirov).

      The athletes also said that they do not plan to become coaches and raise new sports stars. They noted that you either have to devote yourself entirely to coaching or focus on your own career.
