"Conflict-free" traffic lights have started operating at two more intersections in Kirov.

In Kirov, installation of traffic lights that separate pedestrian and vehicular flows continues. According to the city administration’s press service, the new mode has been launched at the intersections of Vladimirskaya and Truda streets, and Vladimirskaya and Morozovskaya. Traffic is now organized so that pedestrians and cars do not interfere with each other. First the green signal for pedestrians is turned on, and after 7 seconds — for the traffic moving parallel to the pedestrians. After that, for 13–15 seconds vehicles and pedestrians can move simultaneously. The green signal is switched off likewise first for pedestrians, then for traffic. The Directorate for Improvement notes that the introduction of conflict-free traffic lights makes movement at busy intersections safer and more comfortable. Work to install such systems in Kirov will continue.
