The State Duma set deadlines for appearing in response to an electronic summons.
Members of the State Duma adopted an amendment according to which citizens are required to appear at the military enlistment office no later than 30 days after the publication of an electronic summons in a special registry. As reported by RBC, the amendment will supplement Article 7.1 of the law "On Military Duty and Military Service" and will become part of a new law allowing conscription to be carried out year-round. According to the bill, medical examinations, psychological testing and draft board meetings will be held continuously; however, recruits will continue to be sent to serve twice a year: in spring–summer and autumn–winter. Previously, the law prohibited citizens from leaving the country immediately after a summons was published. The new measure now establishes a clear time frame for reporting to the enlistment office.
