Rakhim Azimov participated in the 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS countries.

The Attorney General of the Russian Federation, Alexander Gutsan, took part in the Council’s work. By decision of the Council, he was unanimously elected Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Prosecutors General of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The main topics of the meeting were issues of international cooperation among supervisory authorities in combating modern challenges — terrorism, extremism, money laundering, and the illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons.

Rakhim Azimov and the Chairman of the Committee on Security and Anti‑Corruption, Vasily Piskarev, presented the legislative experience of the State Duma. All key bills in the areas of security and anti‑corruption are drafted in close cooperation with the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia, which ensures a high level of effectiveness in legal regulation. Such cooperation allows for the prompt improvement of the legislative framework in line with current challenges and threats.

Rakhim Azimov noted that special attention must be paid to combating corruption and cybercrime. The damage from fraud and the illegal use of artificial intelligence technologies in Russia has already exceeded 200 billion rubles. At the same time, attempts are being made via internet technologies to draw young people into unlawful activities, which requires joint efforts by law enforcement agencies and legislators to counter such activity.
