Drivers in Kirov Oblast violated the rules for passing through railway crossings 49 times in a year.
In the first nine months of 2025, 49 cases of violations of railway crossing rules were recorded in the Kirov Region — one more than a year earlier, the Gorky Railway reported.
Overall along the line the number of violations fell by 19%, however the region saw one accident involving a train and a car — there were no such cases last year.
Most often drivers enter crossings on a red traffic light, overtake and cross the tracks in the oncoming lane.
Railway workers remind that inspections of crossings in the Kirov Region are regularly carried out jointly with the traffic police — since the beginning of the year more than 460 sites have been checked. Nearly a thousand safety lectures have also been held, attended by about 36,000 drivers.

"Gardens of Memory" is an entire movement that began in 2015 in the small village of Seleznikha in the Kirovo-Chepetsky District. Pupils of the local school suggested planting apple trees in memory of the heroes who gave their lives for their homeland. A simple but touching idea quickly gained support not only within the region but beyond it, becoming a symbol of unity and respect for the memory of ancestors.
A key role in the development of this project was played by State Duma deputy and chairman of the Union of Gardeners of Russia, Oleg Valenchuk. Thanks to his support, "Gardens of Memory" have today become one of the most widespread patriotic movements in the country, alongside the "Immortal Regiment" and the "St. George's Ribbon." Over the past years more than 22,000 trees have been planted in the Kirov region, and in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory another 2,500 apple and lilac saplings were added. Each of them has become a living monument, a symbol of the unbroken bond between generations and a reminder of the cost of peace.
Ten years later the apple trees planted by children and adults have grown and strengthened, beginning to bear fruit. At the suggestion of school principals, Oleg Valenchuk decided to expand the movement and distribute the harvest collected in the Gardens of Memory to veterans and socially vulnerable families. This charitable initiative found a warm response among schoolchildren.
Recently a delegation from the Union of Gardeners visited the Kirov Center for Social Services for the Population, whose branches are located on Pugacheva, Klubnaya, and Vladimirskaya streets.
"Thank you so much for the apples! This attention is very important for our center!" — the children with disabilities and the elderly received a great deal of positive emotion, said Irina Lapteva, head of the branch at 24 Pugacheva.
Warm-hearted and caring staff work here, helping children with disabilities, engaging them in creative activities, singing, and preparing them for independent life. The center also holds classes for the elderly aimed at developing memory, social interaction, and physical activity.
"The apples were immediately taken by both the children and the pensioners. On behalf of all our wards, we extend sincere gratitude for the very tasty and healthy fruits," said Ekaterina Shklyaeva, head of the branch at 19 Klubnaya.
Teams from a wide range of organizations and institutions across Kirov Oblast actively took part in harvesting and distributing the crop. It became a genuine display of solidarity and care for others.
"'Gardens of Memory' have become a symbol of kindness and compassion. This project brings together people of different ages and professions, inspiring them to do good deeds. Importantly, each apple tree planted in memory of the heroes now not only bears fruit but also brings joy to those in need," emphasized Oleg Valenchuk.
The work will be carried out as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life."
