An autumn inspection of firefighting reservoirs has begun in Kirov.

As reported by the Kirov mayor’s office, staff from the territorial administrations, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), and civil protection services are assessing a number of parameters of firefighting water bodies. In particular, they are checking the presence and condition of access roads, signs and pyramid-shaped covers over wells, and the maintenance of the surrounding area. If a firefighting water body is an artificial underground reservoir, the level of water in it is of particular importance.

The city administration noted that the inspection of firefighting water bodies in the Oktyabrsky District of Kirov has been completed. Ten water sources were inspected; no issues were identified.

In the Pervomaysky District, 17 firefighting water bodies are due to be inspected. The inspection will take place on Wednesday, October 15. Several inspection raids are planned in the Novovyatsky District: this district contains more than 60 water objects intended for firefighting. Thirteen firefighting water bodies will also be checked in the Leninsky District.
