      In August, 12 road accidents involving wild animals occurred on the roads of Kirov Oblast, nine of which involved moose. There were also reported collisions with a hare, a lynx and a wild boar. One person was injured in the accidents.

      The accidents occurred in the following districts: Arbazhsky, Afanasyevsky, Verkhoshizhemsky, Darovsky, Kirovo-Chepetsky, Omutninsky, Orlovsky, Svechinsky, Yaransky, as well as within the city of Kirov.

      The press service of the Kirov Oblast environmental protection agency reminded citizens how to avoid such accidents:

      use your high beams outside the city when there are no oncoming vehicles

      it is important to have fog lights installed — they help you see the roadside better

      be attentive in areas marked with the "Wild animals" sign and in places where the forest comes close to the road

      do not honk if you see an animal on the roadside — it is better to drive past slowly or stop.
