Some gas stations in Russia have begun to limit gasoline sales.

"For more than a month there have been reports of shortages and disruptions in gasoline supplies at filling stations," Pavel Bazhenov, head of the Independent Fuel Union (IFU), told Izvestia. "We have been forced to impose limits on the dispensing of gasoline to 10–20 liters or to temporarily sell only diesel."

According to the newspaper, this situation has been observed in Central Russia, in the south of the country, in the Volga region and in the Far East. Market participants also confirmed the introduction of restrictions at gas stations in the Moscow region, Ryazan, Leningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

Experts cite the seasonal rise in fuel demand, repair work at refineries and rising gasoline prices on the exchange as the causes. At the same time, according to Izvestia, the relevant authorities are discussing extending the ban on gasoline exports and possibly introducing a ban on diesel fuel exports until the end of the year.
