Russian National Guard officers prevented possible thefts of more than 1.6 million rubles from elderly residents of Kirov.
The first incident occurred at around 4:00 p.m., when an elderly woman tried to withdraw more than one million rubles from her account. Her behavior aroused the suspicion of bank employees, who suspected the pensioner might have fallen under the influence of telephone scammers. Rosgvardiya officers who arrived held a precautionary talk with the woman and called a police investigative team.
Two days later, at another bank branch, a similar situation occurred — another elderly woman was about to withdraw more than 600,000 rubles. The woman was handed over to detectives from the criminal investigation unit for further proceedings.
Rosgvardiya urges residents of the region to be cautious and, at the slightest suspicion of fraudulent activity, to seek help from law enforcement.
