Rospotrebnadzor explained who can receive Botox injections and who can get tattoos.

Rospotrebnadzor reminded the public of safety rules when visiting beauty salons and cosmetology offices. Specialists emphasized that choosing the right establishment and a qualified specialist directly affects clients' health.

Procedures that involve breaching the integrity of the skin — for example, Botox injections or tattoos — should be performed only by specialists with medical education and verified qualifications. In addition, the organization must hold a medical license listing all services provided.

Services that do not breach the skin's integrity — massage, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, manicure, pedicure and others — may be offered by regular beauty salons and hairdressers without staff having medical education.

Rospotrebnadzor also reminded the public to maintain sterility: instruments must undergo pre-sterilization cleaning and be stored in sterile packaging with the sterilization date indicated. Disposable masks, gloves and linen must be used for each procedure, and all products must be accompanied by documents confirming their quality and expiration date.

The agency stressed that compliance with these requirements and the choice of a qualified specialist are key factors for safety during cosmetic procedures.
