As reported on the State Duma website, amendments are being made to Part 3 of Article 12.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. If the law is finally adopted, the following fines will apply for violations of the requirements for transporting children established by the traffic regulations:
5,000 rubles for individuals (currently — 3,000 rubles)
50,000 rubles for officials (currently — 25,000 rubles)
200,000 rubles for legal entities (currently — 100,000 rubles).
The explanatory note to the document says that the proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation will help reduce the number of road traffic accidents involving child passengers.
