
Kirov Oblast became more popular with tourists this summer.
According to the organization, the total number of hotel bookings in the country from June to August rose by 3.9%, however the number of booked room-nights increased by only 1.1%.
Despite an overall correction in demand after several years of rapid domestic tourism growth, a number of regions showed dynamics above the national average. Kirov Oblast also made the top ten in terms of growth, where the number of booked room-nights increased by 12.4%.
Crimea was the growth leader (+34%), followed by Tambov Oblast (+18.3%) and Kamchatka Krai (+17.6%). Regions that recorded a decrease in booked nights included Krasnodar Krai, Leningrad Oblast, Udmurtia and Novosibirsk Oblast.
According to RST, the average cost per night in a hotel this summer amounted to 10,116 rubles, which is 7.1% higher than last year.
