In August in Kirov, cabbage, potatoes and carrots saw the largest price declines.

      According to the agency, in August 2025 the consumer price index for goods and services in the Kirov Region averaged 99.9%, and year to date — 104.7%. Over the month, prices for food products fell by an average of 0.4%. There was a significant price decline for fruit and vegetable produce.

      The largest decrease was in white cabbage: down 30.5%. In second place was potatoes, which became cheaper by 28.4%. Carrots fell by 27.5%. Apples decreased the least: only by 9.9%.

      Among the observed types of meat and fish products, live and chilled fish rose in price by 5.4%. Smoked meat products became more expensive by 3.8%, lamb (excluding boneless meat) and salted, pickled, smoked fish rose by 2.9%. Semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausages, frankfurters, small sausages, and frozen squid became more expensive by 2.7%. At the same time, salted and smoked fish delicacies fell by 3.1%.

      Prices for pasta made from highest-grade wheat flour fell by 3.5%, polished rice by 3.2%, and zephyr and pastila by 2.9%.

      The price increase for non-food goods over the month averaged 0.3%. Among the observed types of clothing and footwear, women's fur coats and sheepskin coats rose by 3.3%, men's genuine leather jackets by 3%. Women's closed shoes became 2.7% more expensive, and boots and low shoes for school-age children increased by 2.4%.
