In Kirov, a young woman transferred more than 2.5 million rubles to scammers.

      In early August a woman from Kirov received a call from an unknown man who convinced her to provide the SMS code to receive a parcel. After that, the fraudsters gained access to her account on the state services portal and began calling via messaging apps, posing as government officials. Under the pretext of protecting her savings, the callers demanded that she transfer money to specified phone numbers and accounts. Over the course of two weeks she transferred funds, losing more than 2.5 million rubles. When contact with the callers was cut off, the woman from Kirov realized she had become a victim of fraud and reported it to the police. A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident.
