In Kirov, they are trying to save a rare golden shrike.
Recently a golden shrike with a broken wing and severe emaciation was brought to the Kirov wildlife rescue center "Big Nest." This bird has bright plumage and is usually found in more southern regions; its appearance in the Kirov region is considered a rare occurrence.
Specialists are currently treating and caring for the bird. To aid its recovery, bandages are being applied and it is being force-fed. The shrike's diet includes crickets and cockroaches, which temporarily replace its usual food.
The staff's main priorities are preserving the bird's eye health and promoting the healing of the damaged wing. The bird will not be able to return to the wild, but it has a chance to remain in someone's home, where it would receive care and food.
