Colonel Voronov's case is entering the 'judicial phase'.

The source clarified that because of an unofficially established regime of "complete secrecy of the investigation" he can only say today that the "case is closed", which will subsequently be considered "by a special procedure". That the gist of the "main accusations" against Voronov boils down to the likely receipt of bribes, the total amount of which is "very impressive":

"So the sentence handed down to Nikita Belykh — eight years in 'strict regime' — could turn out to be a blessing for Voronov."

As the interlocutor explained, he was "unpleasantly surprised that" the expectation of many law-enforcement officers that investigations into the criminal cases of Andrei Fedorovich's alleged "accomplices" would be completed simultaneously — among whom Colonel Oleg Luchinin was most often assumed, who as head of the UBEP allegedly could not have been unaware of the "mischief of the second person in the UVD" — did not come to fruition:

"This is not the greatest sorrow, because there is hope that, by signing an agreement with the investigation, Voronov not only detailed his subordinates' participation in his 'schemes', thereby spinning their cases off into separate proceedings, but also shared knowledge of their so-called 'illegal activities'. Why do I think so? Because the deputy of a general would not have approached a police officer with clean hands"...

However, as the interlocutor sadly summed up, he had hoped until the last minute that the accusation against Colonel Voronov "was slander". And that he had not purchased a very expensive apartment in the "Bulychev House" and does not own housing in the "European Streets" residential complex.

Recall that on January 21 the Pervomaisky District Court of Kirov chose detention as the preventive measure for the "second person" of Kirov's UVD, Colonel Andrei Voronov, suspected of "receiving a bribe on a large scale" and "exceeding official powers out of personal interest".

As a source with "access to SIZO-1" described the day of the arrested colonel in February, where the "splendid colonel" received temporary registration: "He marches in formation, loves the motherland, kisses on cue 'gorko'."

At that time law-enforcement officers privately informed that probably a couple more people were being drawn into "Voronov's circle" (Newsler.ru has so far been unable to clarify whether the charge brought against Andrei Fedorovich names a "group of persons" or whether he is a lone suspect), while according to the case materials Voronov's circle of "trusted acquaintances" was nevertheless mostly built on "professional relationships and ties."

Interestingly, if one follows Newsler.ru's publications, Colonel Voronov initially gave incriminating testimony, probably to remain under house arrest until trial. But later the "general's first deputy" retracted his confessions, most likely at the lawyers' instigation, so the main witness had to be summoned from the SVO territory — "fighter Korsakov" — who confirmed the initial testimony. It is likely that this spring the general's deputy returned to a "cooperation" tactic, and possibly in May again went "under house arrest."

Recall that at the beginning of the year searches were conducted of Voronov's apartments and of administrative premises in residential buildings (registered in his mother's name) that were rented out. In particular, operatives were impressed by the apartment in the "Bulychev House", where the price per square meter was 200–250 thousand rubles. And judging by video materials, the colonel certainly did not live in a closet, so the likelihood of a one-off bribe tended to zero. And even a "double magarych" raised doubts when they saw the diamond necklace of the colonel's wife.
