Starting September 1, passengers will be able to retain their airline tickets if they miss one of the flights.

Changes affecting air travel have come into force in Russia. Previously, there was a rule under which missing one flight automatically cancelled the entire itinerary. Now passengers have more flexibility.

If a person is unable to board a flight, they may, within two hours after the aircraft's departure, notify the airline of their intention to continue the journey. The next flight on the route must depart no sooner than 24 hours later. The cost of the missed flight is not refunded, but all other tickets remain valid.

The new measure will allow travelers to avoid a situation where a single missed flight would void the entire itinerary. This was reported by representatives of Kirov Airport.
