The region's industrial production index edged down.
According to the agency’s data, for January–July 2025 the industrial production index in the Kirov region amounted to 98.1% compared to the same period of 2024.
Compared with January–July 2024, output of organizations engaged in mining fell by 21.4%. Enterprises engaged in water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal, and pollution remediation — by 7.1%. Enterprises supplying electricity, gas and steam — by 4.3%, and manufacturing industries — by 1.5%.
In January–July of the current year a decline in production volumes was recorded compared with the corresponding period of the previous year in certain types of economic activity. In particular, production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers decreased by 40.9%, textiles by 38.2%, other non‑metallic mineral products by 19.5%, beverages by 19.2%, paper and paper products by 18.9%, electrical equipment by 16.5%, and leather and leather products by 15.4%. Production of rubber and plastic products decreased by 13.3%, machinery and equipment not included in other groupings — by 12.7%, clothing — by 11.7%, metallurgical products — by 8.4%, furniture by 7.6%, and food products by 2.2%.
In addition, the volume of services provided by organizations for the repair and installation of machinery and equipment fell by 5.9%. Volumes of wood processing and the production of products made of wood and cork (except furniture), and the production of straw products and weaving materials fell by 5.1%.
Almost 300,000 Kirov residents received social support for utility payments. Seventeen men work in the region’s kindergartens. In the Kirov region 2,752 apartments were built and wages increased by 4.7%.
