The list sent to the regions included 37 songs aimed at the patriotic and spiritual and moral education of schoolchildren. Among the classic compositions are "Victory Day," "Red Sun" and "How Beautiful This World Is," RBC reports.
From contemporary performers, the list included songs by Shaman ("My Russia"), Oleg Gazmanov ("Officers," "Immortal Regiment," "Forward, Russia"), Sergey Trofimov ("Motherland") and Denis Maidanov ("Russia").
The idea to update the list of patriotic songs for schoolchildren was proposed by the State Duma in 2024. The Ministry of Education agreed to consider it, but without naming specific performers.
