
In Kirov Oblast, teachers are being offered 40,000 rubles a month.
From January to August 2025 more than 71,600 vacancies for educators were opened in the country, slightly fewer than last year's figure (73,600 vacancies). Leading are Moscow (16,700 vacancies), Saint Petersburg (10,000) and the Moscow Region (3,900 vacancies).
Despite a formal surplus of resumes, schools and kindergartens across the country are experiencing a shortage of staff. According to hh.ru experts, a significant portion of the profiles are posted by tutors and online teachers, so competition for vacancies in traditional educational institutions is lower than it seems.
The average offered salary for teachers across Russia rose by 19% year-on-year to 54,400 rubles. In the Volga Federal District employers are willing to pay the most in Tatarstan (49,500), Penza Oblast (45,000) and Mari El (44,000). The lowest pay level was recorded in Mordovia (35,000 rubles).
Kirov Oblast ranked in the middle of the list with a median salary of 40,000 rubles per month for educators.
Most often employers expect teachers to have skills in organizing the educational process, the ability to work in a team, good verbal communication and the ability to foster students' development. Requirements related to IT competencies and management are mentioned less often — for example, "neural networks", "maintaining project documentation" or "systems analysis".
In Kirov almost 40% of companies have kept their employees working remotely.
Technical support specialists in Kirov earn the least in the Volga Federal District, but they find work faster.
One in ten residents of Kirov works freelance, but many plan to return to the office.
