A Kirov resident was sentenced to nine years in prison for the murder of an acquaintance.
On September 8 last year a 37-year-old resident of Kirov and his acquaintance were drinking alcohol in a house on Potrebkooperatsii Street. During the drinking session they got into a verbal argument, during which the first man stabbed his acquaintance several times in the chest out of a sudden personal animosity. The Kirov resident died at the scene from his injuries.
A criminal case was opened against the 37-year-old man. The evidence collected by the Investigative Department for the Leninsky District of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region was sufficient to find the man guilty of the crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder). The case was referred to court.
By the court's verdict the Kirov resident was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment to be served in a strict‑regime correctional colony.
