On August 20, 2025, 103-year-old "Dynamo" Society veteran Ekaterina Ivanovna Araslanova passed away, the public page of the Kirov Regional Organization of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Society "Dynamo" reported.
Ekaterina Ivanovna was born in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As an infant she was placed in an orphanage. In school she was an excellent student, and afterwards she enrolled in an institute.
In 1941 Ekaterina Ivanovna was mobilized to the front. At that time she had not yet completed her feldsher-obstetric courses, but, like many others then, she received a certificate of qualification at the military enlistment office and was sent to the active army at the front. Ekaterina Ivanovna joined the 5th Guards Red Banner Don Cavalry Corps, where she served as a medical orderly, treating not only soldiers but also wounded horses.
In 1943, while in Moldova, she came under a bombing raid and was concussed; she could not speak or hear for a long time. After recovering she returned to the front. In 1944 the corps, having crossed the Dniester on rafts, entered Romania. Then came Poland, where near Warsaw the war ended for Ekaterina Ivanovna. After the end of the war Ekaterina Ivanovna married and in 1949 moved to her husband's homeland — the city of Kirov. That same year the couple's son Vladimir was born.
According to the public page, Ekaterina Ivanovna worked at Kirov "Dynamo" for more than 18 years. For her conscientious work she was repeatedly commended by the "Dynamo" leadership. Ekaterina Ivanovna was always involved in public activities and actively participated in all events.
She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, the Medal "For the Victory over Germany," and has many jubilee medals.
