Veterinarians in Kirov twice rescued a puppy from the special military operation zone.
Recently a puppy named Sirena arrived in Kirov Oblast with her mother, evacuated by volunteers from a combat zone. It seemed a peaceful life was beginning for her: quarantine was completed, vaccinations were given, and a search for a home lay ahead. But suddenly her condition worsened dramatically; she began vomiting and refusing food. The diagnosis was severe — parvovirus infection.
For a week the veterinarians and assistants at the veterinary center fought for her life. Thanks to round-the-clock monitoring and treatment, the puppy was saved. After some time, Sirena and her mother found new owners.
However, soon the illness returned in another form. The puppy was brought back to the clinic in critical condition. Veterinarians diagnosed babesiosis — a dangerous disease caused by parasites that destroy the blood. An emergency blood transfusion and intensive therapy were required.
Despite the poor prognosis, the vets were able to save Sirena's life a second time. Now the puppy is doing well and brings joy to the family, and the veterinarians who saved her hope she has only a happy life ahead.
