Russia has launched the "People's Deputy" contest — applications are being accepted until the end of August.
During the Year of the Municipal Deputy, the United Russia party announced the "People's Deputy" contest. Its aim is to identify and disseminate nationwide the most successful practices of deputies' work with voters. This was reported by State Duma deputy from Kirov Oblast Maria Butina on her Telegram channel.
Residents of municipalities where no elections are held in 2025 can nominate their deputy. To do so, they must fill out an application on the "Izbiratel-deputat" website by August 31.
Contest participants will present their projects and developments, and then residents of towns, districts and villages will vote for them. Winners will be determined based on the vote, and their initiatives will be recommended for implementation to deputies of the United Russia faction in other municipalities.
