On the Northern Embankment in Kirov, pines, willows and rowan trees were planted.
Today more than 60 mountain pines, 13 rowan trees and 8 willows were planted on public grounds. According to the Department of Environmental Protection and Green Construction of the Directorate for Improvement, the greening project was developed by landscape designers so that the plants would harmoniously complement one another. The work involved not only specialists from the Directorate for Improvement but also contractors. In addition to the Northern Embankment, new trees and shrubs have appeared on Lomonosov, Proizvodstvennaya and Entuziastov streets, and today Rimma Yurovskaya Street was being greened. "We looked at various vacant locations as early as winter where there is nothing but lawn. They need to be landscaped so that residents can walk comfortably in hot weather," the agency noted. After planting, the plants will be under special supervision for 3–5 years: they will be cared for, watered and given sanitary pruning. The work will be accepted only after specialists verify compliance with all planting procedures.
