An employee of the Kotel'nich Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia took his own life.
It is likely about an employee of the Kotel'nich interdistrict investigative department who came to the prosecutor's office "for a talk." According to colleagues, the man not only knew the implications of the summons but also considered it incompatible with an officer's honor.
"Perhaps he could not or would not use his service weapon to wash away the shame and dishonor, and took another item with him, which he brought into the prosecutor's office," a law enforcement source said.
But, according to colleagues, the Investigative Committee officer may have taken his own life, unable to bear suspicion of having committed a serious crime.
However, today it was not possible to establish the true cause of the death of the investigatory officer — there is no official statement, and one is unlikely to appear. The first version about "unhappy love" (a love triangle — him, his wife and a female colleague) did not seem particularly plausible, as it apparently would not explain his presence in the prosecutor's courtyard in the last minutes of his life.
According to Kirov law enforcement, the deceased allegedly may have been protecting drug trafficking. Or "released someone illegally." There is also a view that he "may have failed to adequately oversee the school construction," where, in fact, a criminal case for fraud was opened.
But if the Moscow construction company "Assa" itself or its owners — who spent, on just digging the school's foundation pit, nearly half a billion rubles — are not "special subjects," then the interest of the Investigative Committee, and not the Kotel'nich one but the Kirov one, could be justified by interest in a certain "government person" who awarded the Moscow firm, without competitive bidding, the construction of two district schools.
