Due to her age she is unable to fully protect her rights. In this connection the prosecutor filed a lawsuit seeking to recover from the vehicle owner compensation for moral damages caused by the collision with the minor. The offending young woman was held administratively liable under Article 12.24 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules or rules for the operation of a vehicle resulting in minor or moderate harm to the victim’s health). She was deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for one and a half years. The prosecutor’s claim was granted, and the owner of the car (the father of the person responsible for the accident) was ordered to pay the teenager compensation in the amount of 300,000 rubles.
