Residents of the village of Vekshino in Kirovo-Chepetsky District collectively appealed to the deputy regional prosecutor, Sergey Lomtsev, for help. In the settlement there is no adequate street lighting in the evening and at night. During an inspection the information about a breach of the law was confirmed. Failure to comply with the requirements of current legislation does not ensure the safety of road users. In this connection the city prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit seeking to oblige the administration of the Prosnitskoye Rural Settlement to ensure the operation of permanent street lighting. The court granted the prosecutor’s claims. A specific deadline for remedying the violations has been set. The prosecutor’s office will monitor compliance with the court decision and the complete elimination of the identified violations of the law.
