Bank employees helped an elderly Kirov resident avoid losing 100,000 rubles.

      A 70-year-old resident of Kirov received a call from a stranger who said the intercom in her building was being repaired. The man asked the victim to read out the code from an SMS to confirm. After that, another person contacted the woman on Telegram, claiming that her personal account on the Gosuslugi portal had been hacked and that, to protect herself, she supposedly had to cash out 100,000 rubles. The callers' pressure unnerved the woman, and she did not immediately realize that she didn't even use the Gosuslugi portal.

      When she went to the bank, the retiree told the staff what had happened. They explained the fraud scheme to her, and the money was secured. The woman contacted the police. A criminal case has been opened.
