Three people died on the railway tracks in Kirov Oblast.

      According to Kirov City Hall, citing specialists from the Kirov branch of the Gorky Railway, since the beginning of 2025 there have been four incidents involving people at railway infrastructure facilities in the Kirov region. Three of them died.

      Specialists of the Kirov region of the Gorky Railway noted that most accidents occur due to the carelessness of citizens. The main causes of incidents are crossing the tracks in front of an approaching train, attempting to cross the railway tracks at undesignated places, hooliganism and train‑surfing (zaceping).

      Specialists noted that railway tracks may only be crossed at designated places, using pedestrian bridges, tunnels and level crossings. At stations where there are no bridges or tunnels, people should cross the tracks using walkways and at places marked with “Crossing the tracks” signs. It is forbidden to cross the tracks at level crossings when the barrier is down or the level crossing signal shows a red light. When crossing railway tracks, you must make sure there are no moving trains, locomotives or wagons.

      It is strictly forbidden to walk on the railway tracks, to cross or run across the tracks in front of an approaching train if the distance to it is less than 400 meters. It is also prohibited to cross the railway tracks less than 10 minutes before the arrival of a high‑speed train. At stations and on sections between stations it is strictly forbidden to crawl under cars or climb over couplers to cross the tracks. It is forbidden to walk along the railway tracks closer than 5 meters from the outer rail, to approach the supports and wires of the contact network, to throw foreign objects onto the wires and supports, or to climb the supports. You must not use headphones or mobile phones when crossing the railway tracks.
