
A Kirov resident was sentenced to nine months in a strict-regime penal colony for repeated theft of money.
The Suna District Prosecutor's Office supported the prosecution in the criminal case against a 36-year-old Kirov resident previously convicted of theft. As reported by the regional prosecutor's office, the man was again found guilty of committing an offense under subparagraph "v" of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).
The investigation established that on January 9, 2025, the man was visiting a female acquaintance who resides in the settlement of Suna. After consuming alcohol, he discovered a wallet with money that the apartment's owner had left in the kitchen. Seeking unlawful enrichment, the man secretly stole the money, causing the woman significant material damage. The amount stolen exceeded 138,000 rubles.
Having considered the case, the court found the Kirov resident guilty and, taking into account information about his personality, his attitude toward the offense and other circumstances, sentenced him to nine months' imprisonment. The repeat offender will serve the sentence in a strict-regime penal colony.
