Olimpia signs new players
Olimpiya’s first signing was 27-year-old goaltender Georgiy Kuznetsov. The deal with the keeper runs through the end of the 2025/2026 season. A product of the Dynamo SDYUSHOR (Moscow), he began his career in the MHL with HC MVD and MHK Dynamo. He made his VHL debut in 2018/2019 for Buran (Voronezh), later playing for Dynamo (MO), Dynamo St. Petersburg and Tambov. In the KHL he played 7 games for Moscow Dynamo in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. He played in the Czech Republic for Marimex (Kolín), and last season he tended goal for Yunost Minsk in the Belarus championship. For Yunost he played 21 regular-season games and 7 playoff games. Overall statistics: MHL (77 games, 25 wins, 6 shutouts), VHL (137 games, 59 wins, 9 shutouts), KHL (7 games).
Forward Bulat Minnekhanov also signed a contract with Olimpiya through the end of the 2025/2026 season. A product of HC Salavat Yulaev (Naberezhnye Chelny), he began his career in the MHL with Tolpar and the Sakhalin Sharks in the 2018/2019 season. He made his VHL debut in 2022/2023 for Bars; last season he played in Chelny. In the MHL he has 96 points in 163 games, and in the VHL 10 points in 73 games.
Another newcomer to the attack is 21-year-old Avval Baisov, who signed a trial contract with the club until August 29. A product of Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk), he debuted in the MHL for Mamonty Yugry in 2020/2021. In 2021/2022 he played in the Canadian OHL. In 2023/2024 he played in the MHL for the Mikhailov Academy and in the VHL for Ryazan-VDV, finishing the season in the NMHL with Polyot (Rybinsk), where he also spent the entire following 2024/2025 season. In the MHL he has 53 points in 71 games, and in the NMHL 95 points in 70 games.
The team’s defense will be strengthened by 19-year-old Maksim Gusev, who signed with Olimpiya through the end of the 2026/2027 season. A product of Dynamo St. Petersburg, he spent three seasons in the MHL with the club’s junior team, playing a total of 153 games. He recorded 21 points with a plus-minus rating of -2.
