The regional operator explained which packaging will soon disappear in Russia.
The Russian Ministry of Natural Resources is developing a set of measures to prohibit the use of packaging that is difficult or impossible to recycle. By 2030, the plan is to phase out blister packaging made from polymers, thin polyethylene bags, films less than 20 micrometers thick, and polystyrene packaging.
Why is this important?
The fact is that such packaging is almost not recyclable. After use, it becomes waste that is difficult to separate from the general waste mass. As a result, it ends up in landfills, polluting the environment.
As an alternative, biodegradable materials are proposed for packaging, which can be disposed of together with organic waste, for example, through composting, noted Kupret.
These measures are part of a systematic effort to improve the ecological situation in the country, initiated within the framework of the national project "Environmental Well-being." Reducing landfill volumes and increasing the share of recycled secondary raw materials are important steps toward a more environmentally friendly future.
Let’s care for our planet together!
