Residents of Krasnaya Polyana are left without a store: groceries now only once a week.

In Krasnaya Polyana, Vyatsko-Polyansky district, the only grocery store closed in May, which was used by residents of the Sosnovoye and Yamnoye neighborhoods. Since then, access to food has been severely limited for hundreds of people, mainly the elderly. Currently, groceries can only be purchased once a week — the mobile shop arrives on Thursdays. According to local residents, this is not enough.

Due to infrequent deliveries, some food must be discarded: milk spoils, bread becomes stale, and drinking water needs to be stockpiled in advance. It is especially hard for residents of the Sosnovoye neighborhood — the water from their taps is of questionable quality.

There are hardly any alternative options for purchasing food. Buses to the town center, where stores are located, do not run. Walking is about 5 km one way. It is also possible to get there by train from Yamnoye, but that requires walking 1.5 km.

According to Valeria Cheremisina, head of the regional branch of the People's Front, local authorities cite the lack of complaints about the absence of a store. "It turns out there are two options — increase the number of trips of the mobile shop or organize transportation for residents to the town center," she said.

The ONF began collecting signatures among local residents to pass them to the district administration. They have taken responsibility for resolving the issue.
