The new rules for passing vehicles with special signals came into effect.
A new rule for giving priority on the road to vehicles with special signals is being introduced in Russia, reports "Parliamentary Gazette." Now, drivers approaching vehicles with flashing lights will not only need to yield but also change lanes to clear the lane or row. Specifically, the new regulation states that when approaching a vehicle with blue flashing lights, the driver should yield or vacate the lane or row. If the "flashing lights" are blue with red, then it is required not only to yield or vacate the lane or row but also to allow escort vehicles to pass. Previously, the old traffic rules recommended that drivers simply yield the right of way when encountering vehicles with special signals. According to the publication, citing Vice President of the National Automobile Union Anton Shaparin, the amendments that have been made and come into force are likely to be further adjusted.
