The controversial sports ground in Novovyatsk still hasn't been completed.

Today, the Duma commission discussed the condition of the sports grounds at School No. 8 in Novovyatsk. It is worth recalling that several scandals have been associated with it. The most significant concerned the coating of the running tracks, which the contractor laid on the wrong side. Additionally, there were scandals related to the acceptance of substandard work and delays in correcting defects.

As learned today, there are still defects on the volleyball and basketball courts—the improperly installed coating has simply blistered. On the football field, uneven surfaces can be seen. The asphalt cover has started to develop depressions. Despite all this, local residents continue to break down the fence and break onto the site. Officially, it is not in use due to non-compliance with requirements, but in fact, it is still accessible.

According to the Kirov administration, a counterclaim has been filed against the contractor, and a court case is currently underway. When it will conclude is unknown. Officials state that the total cost of unfulfilled work on the site amounts to 5.4 million rubles, more than half of which is for the running track coating. But even if this is disregarded and left as it is, the cost exceeds 2 million. It seems that the administration will have to pay this amount out of pocket, provided it even cares about the ongoing preservation of the site.
