
The State Duma increased fines for compulsory service provisioning.
According to the State Duma website, the maximum fine for pressuring consumers into purchasing additional paid goods and services can reach up to 1 million rubles.
"The document may strengthen administrative liability for forcing citizens to purchase additional goods, work, services, or to conclude other contracts that obligate the consumer to purchase such goods or services in the future," states the State Duma website.
If the amendments to the RF Code of Administrative Offenses are finally adopted, the fines may amount to:
- For officials and individual entrepreneurs – from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles (currently – from 2,000 to 4,000 rubles)
- For legal entities – from 250,000 to 1 million rubles (currently – from 20,000 to 40,000 rubles).
