Investigative Committee filed a case regarding a worker’s death in Kirovo-Chepetsk.

      According to the department, information about the death of an employee of one of the chemical enterprises in Kirovo-Chepetsk was received by the authorities on July 9. A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department of Kirovo-Chepetsk city, under the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kirov Region.

      The Investigative Committee reported that the investigator examined the scene, and necessary forensic examinations have been scheduled. Currently, documentation relevant to the criminal case is being seized, and a series of measures are being carried out to establish all circumstances of the incident. Additionally, those authorities who may be subject to criminal prosecution are being identified.

      It is reminded that the employee of the enterprise and his colleague sought medical assistance on June 16, five days after their shift during which they performed work at the production facility. Both were hospitalized with pneumonia. The second employee, according to current information, remains in satisfactory condition.

      At the company where the deceased man worked, it was reported that on June 11 he was working during the day shift from 08:00 to 20:00. On that day, a replacement of the shut-off valves on the water drain into the sewer was carried out. According to company representatives, the workshop was operating normally, and no incidents or deviations from the technological process were recorded.

      "According to gas analyzers, no hazardous substances were detected in the air of the work area. Also, according to the medical service, no signs of poisoning, sore throat, or pulmonary edema have been identified among the employees," stated the "GaloPolymer" company in Kirovo-Chepetsk.
