"From stoker to baker": about 2,000 inmates in the Kirov region have learned new professions

According to the press service of the regional UIFS, among the in-demand professions are baker, cook, welder, seamstress, electrician, locksmith, boiler operator, and even shoemaker. A total of 24 fields have been mastered by the inmates — and they will now be able to apply these skills both in the colony and after their release. All training classrooms and workshops are equipped according to standards: convicts undergo not only theoretical lessons but also mandatory practical training under the supervision of mentors. The agency emphasizes that education is one of the most effective methods of re-socialization. Training in in-demand professions provides better chances for successful employment after release.
