Internet may be shut down in the Kirov region.
According to the regional government, mobile internet may be disconnected in the Kirov region to ensure security. This is a necessary measure implemented to protect against drone attacks. "To effectively counter them, it is necessary to significantly reduce the speed on mobile networks, which leads to the disconnection of mobile internet as well as disruptions in voice communication," the Kirov regional government reported.
Currently, Russian operators are reconfiguring equipment so that landline voice and SMS communication continue to operate during mobile network restrictions. Operators are working on technical solutions that will allow the continued operation of some of the most demanded services and applications during such restrictions.
It is worth recalling that on Friday, July 3, the internet in Kirov was temporarily unavailable: there was no connection from approximately 1:50 p.m. Neither mobile nor wired internet was working. Connection issues were observed across all operators. Internet service was restored after about an hour.
