The verdict in the illegal migration case in Kirov has been upheld.

The sentence handed down by the Pervomaysky District Court of Kirov regarding the 28-year-old citizen of the Syrian Arab Republic was upheld. The man had previously been found guilty of organizing illegal migration and sentenced to six years in a corrective colony.

As established by the court, from May 2023 to January 2024, the convicted person, acting as part of a criminal group, arranged the arrival of 45 foreign nationals to Russia purportedly for study at a Kirov university. In reality, these foreigners used this route for illegal transit with subsequent departure to European countries.

Unhappy with the verdict, the defendant and his defense filed appeal complaints; however, the appellate court rejected them, leaving the decision unchanged.
