Kirov residents were warned about liability for trespassing on energy facilities.
In the Kirov region, reminders were issued about the inadmissibility of interfering with energy facilities. These include combined heat and power plants, boiler houses, transformer substations, distribution devices, and other elements of the energy infrastructure. Unauthorized access to such facilities or attempts to damage equipment can cause serious accidents, disruptions in heating and power supply, and also pose threats to people's lives and health. Damage to equipment can paralyze the operation of vital facilities — from hospitals to schools and social institutions. Such actions are subject to criminal liability. Depending on the circumstances, the following may be applied:
Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sabotage) — up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment,
Article 215.2 (damage to energy facilities) — up to 7 years,
Article 158 (theft) — up to 10 years,
Article 167 (deliberate destruction of property) — up to 5 years,
Article 214 (vandalism) — up to 3 years.
Energy workers ask citizens to exercise caution and abide by the law, and to report attempts at trespassing or damage to equipment by calling: 112 (single dispatching service) or 102 (police).
As emphasized by the Kirov branch of T Plus, energy facilities are a vital part of the region's infrastructure, and their protection is directly linked to the safety of residents.
